When it burst into life it sounded great.
I am at home right now and going out to some country pub for lunch so I havent checked if the new inlet manifold is not tight not tight or no gasket at the head end.
Air getting in somewhere.
Timing, (key the wrong way round)
Spark-yes
Fuel (it is new and its E5)- yes
Tomorrow I will check out the air leak theory. If that doesnt work then I'll check the key is the correct way round (advanced).
If that doesn't work I will check tappets and stuff.
If that doesn't work..................................................................?

I found out why it would go.
The offset key in the crankshaft had sheared and was no longer a key in the crankshaft, just a very full slit and and some scoring.
I got another and fitted it. he flywheel is now TIGHT!!!
The engine runs great, sounds much improved and it definatley has a higher rpm so with a bit of luck the centrifugal clutch will work OK.
I installed my new exhaust and silencer and am just at the stage where I have to put the engine in.
I'll keep you informed.

Was this one of the gx tuning keys? I file my own and from memory 0.2mm is 1 degree.

If you can drive round corners, you're not going fast enough.

Yes Jim it was a GX Tuning store key but I think it was possibly the flywheel not being torqued down correctly. Don,t know but it wasn't very difficult to remove.
Piccies coming soon.
