This was spotted crossing into the county border earlier this evening.
If you can drive round corners, you're not going fast enough.

Great day at Whilton Mill today! A big thank you to Jim and Andy. I can see this being on the calendar again for 2022. Good to meet with new interested folk too, hopefully today gave you some inspiration for a winter build.

Here's the results from Whilton Mill.   The first table is from the fun races (Time Trial and Gosling Pickup), the second is from the two competitive events (Maybug Medal and the Slalom).

Thanks to Jim and Andy for organising and running a great day and Denise for being clerk of the course/timekeeper.

What an absolutely cracking day, Andrew and I had a spiffing time. Thank you Jim and Andy for organising such a bang on top hole event. Every one seemed to have a ripping experience. Have asked Jeeves to be a good fellow and prepare the old jalopy for next season. JOLLY GOOD SHOW.     GRAHAM A.

A massive thanks to everyone who came along on Tuesday. Wow, 12 gorgeous karts made it the most at a UK event. I had a really good day and so did Denise who said that you all were really nice and a lot of fun. I do enjoy the crack with you ole boys and feel we have lots of banter and giggles. It was good to see some new faces and the Viking Bentley which is an impressive looking machine Duncan and should look even better on the track. Also I would like to thank the spectators and drivers who came a long way to be there showing real commitment.
Well done to all the Winners of driving trophies and to Chris Loader who looked dashing in his period suit.
All in all I feel the day was generally a success for the club, the drivers, their stomachs and Whilton who would welcome us back anytime. Maybe we can do something there again next year.
If you can drive round corners, you're not going fast enough.

Congratulations to the British CK Club on another great event and a record turnout!!
Another excellent new circuit and venue, even the weather looked splendid!!

Thank you Stefan for providing the result for the CKWC races!!
It made me scratch my head at first, it was the first time I received results in puzzle form.  ;D

But I sorted it all out and here are both Maybug and Slalom individually and in proper order.

I have a few questions though;

1- The #21 Austin Briggs&Stratton: Is this the same Austin 7 that Andy Boulton drove with number #33 at the previous Maybug race? Or is it a different cyclekart? Or maybe I made a mistake and the other was was not #33?

2- What is Maybug Medal? The British Club uses the name Maybug Medal for multiple events through the year, its very confusing.

3 - The #83 Brooklands, is that a Riley, or is Brooklands the actual marque of the inspiration car for this cyclekart?

Since Jim's Dodge did not win both of the last British Club races, the 2021 CycleKart World Championship remains undecided!!!
The Championship situation changed a bit with this result, but as things stand, it is still tilted in the Dodge's favor to win, if Jim can get his Corona Speed Challenge video submission done correctly.
His previous video submitted last weekend had too many issues and did not qualify (DNQ).
Its his first time entering The Corona so its understandable that there were rookie errors in the drive and the video.
If its any consolation, even David Dupaquier had issues with the first video he submitted last year with the Maserati and had to do it again.
This time he submitted a perfect video, and these two video entries will decide the whole Championship so its important that Jim's video also be good. Thats why I'd prefer if participants don't leave their Corona entries for the last minute, but at the same time.... I must confess the drama of last minute entries pending on time, weather, and mechanical issues is very entertaining!!!

As the Corona positions are right now, and based on the CKWC points positions after the last 2 British CKWC races, Jim's 41.5 mph average obtained in his DNQ video' would have slotted the Dodge in 6th place in The Corona, scored 5 points, and beat the Maserati's Championship total by 0.5 point!!
Hopefully Jim can find the time, place, and weather to go out and get this done. It does not even need to be 41.5 mph, just need to be at or over 36.5 mph, the current 6th place speed.
Of course, that all depends on no new entries faster than the Dodge entering the race. A new entry in between the two would mean a position below 6th for the Dodge and not enough points to pass the Maserati for the Championship.

Oddly my #23 VKC now sits exactly in 6th place in the Corona (with a penalized speed).
I just happened to have ended in an uncomfortable position where I can directly influence the Championship result if I chose to submit a new Corona entry, or even if I dont!!!
If I do enter a faster speed (likely in the 45mph range) the Maserati wins... if I dont re-enter and leave things as they are, then I keep the Dodge's chance to win the Championship still alive.
I certainly did not foresee this, crazy how things work out!!

So here is what I jave decided to do, and why:
The #23 VKC was the first entry in the 2021 Corona race, entered in July way before the current Title situation developed.
From what I can see, a new Corona entry from me would change nothing for the #23 VKC in the Championship.
It would just spoil the drama and excitement of the Championship battle between the two contenders..
Therefore,  I have decided that, as the Corona race and Championship organizer, I will keep the #23 VKC Corona entry as its been since July before any of this developed, and not make a move to influence the final outcome for the 2 Championship contenders.

It been an amazing season, Good luck to both!!!

Ooo it's nail-biting stuff!

To try and answer your questions:
1- The #21 Austin Briggs&Stratton: Is this the same Austin 7 that Andy Boulton drove with number #33 at the previous Maybug race? Or is it a different cyclekart? Or maybe I made a mistake and the other was was not #33?

Not sure - I thought it was the same cyclekart - Andy Boulton, can you help please?

2- What is Maybug Medal? The British Club uses the name Maybug Medal for multiple events through the year, its very confusing.
The Maybug Medal is a trophy awarded to the winner each time we run the race format - a timed single lap of the circuit from a standing start.

3 - The #83 Brooklands, is that a Riley, or is Brooklands the actual marque of the inspiration car for this cyclekart?
#83 is a Brooklands Special.   It was built at Brooklands in the spirit of the early pioneers - and given it bears an Austin badge, I'd say you can categorise it as an Austin.   Graham, jump in if I've got that wrong.

Very galant of you to defer on the competition to the battling gladiators.   Great season!   Well done and thanks!

wrong with it??? Two directions, both from a standing start, within moments of each other
I'm confused  ???

Number 27 is my normal Kart and is different from 33. 27 was crashed before the Maybug Medal so I had to drive 33 instead (which is my sons CK)
27 is also an Austin Special. I think the number has been noted incorrectly as not 21. Hope that clears that up - haha!!

Thanks
Andy

Lots of criteria to get right when submitting the video and we had a nightmare with angles, mounting cameras and batteries. the video submitted didn't show enough of the road i believe
