Here is a reminder what fun Stretton is. With this years added bonus of the Viking and The Beast.

If you can drive round corners, you're not going fast enough.

The Safety Briefing is at 9.20am, please be prompt if you want to drive on the track. I shall bring my kettle and some tea, coffee ect but bringing a flask is a good idea and sandwiches. There is a Mcdonalds just down the road near Market Harborough and I will grab a bit of breakfast there. Please bring along your CKGB directors chairs if you have one, I can bring a camping table and maybe my gazebo if it looks like rain. Stretton in the wet is so much fun but don't forget your goggles because the spray from your front tyres doesn't help vision.

Jim's getting all excited about breakfast as he always does, good man.
Please remember the newly introduced noise guidelines at the track and allow additional time for any necessary peer scrutiny.
Last year we kept the morning free for practise, with the organised Maybug Medal just prior to our session end at 1.00pm. Any available time in the afternoon would be good to have a slalom. Jim can you bring the posts etc that you used at Whilton Mill?
The fee for the day is £400. I will be responsible for calculating individual payments on the day (obviously depends on numbers on track).
BTW Jim the Macdonalds "just down the road" is about 10 miles from the circuit ! There is a tea/coffee and snack machine in the circuit clubhouse.
Oh... and I never did get one of those directors chairs! Looking forward to seeing old and new friends.

I don't have a Cyclekart, but I'd love to come along and watch proceedings.  Can spectators come along? I'm only up the road as well.
Let me know.
Cheers

I am really trying to get the Beast done but it needs some finishing touches yet and then some testing on the road needs doing too. Fingers crossed eh?

Only a couple of days or so now before Stretton. This weekend will be a great chance to get your kart track ready and maybe a little test drive. I shall be giving mine a run as the weather looks nice. If there are any other kart owners that want to come along please get your name down quick. It's gonna be a lot of fun.

Regretably, I won't be going to Stretton on Tuesday after all.
I'm still taking morphine based pain relief for my back, not a good idea to try driving (also highly illegal).
It is improving though and I'm managing to potter around for short periods.

Have a great day guys, lots of photos and videos.
I'm not quite as green as I'm cabbage sounding.

That is a shame David. Hope you're well soon and can come along to another meeting.
Only one more sleep till bedlam..sorry Stretton.
I didn't get a chance to throw my kart round a field yesterday for some of pre Stretton testing so I hope my xp2000 super glide hip will be ok.

I'm sorry your not coming David. Nevermind, next time is not too far away.
I have to say, that after about a month of pretty steady work on the Wee Beastie to get her (it) done for tomoorow, it, (she) won't be there.
I left bleeding the brakes to the last minute, Sunday, only to find that I had the feed line from the reservoir to the master cyclinder going to the wrong port. Just swop-over the hoses then thinks I, but the end fittings were different so I needed to get new hoses made up. No problem, the hose shop is open at 8:00 a.m. on a Monday and I was there. However, the end fitting were not available that fitted the unf thread on the Cylinder. I could not get a fitting of the right sort on each end of a single hose because the fittings I need wern't available for the same hose size. After much head-scratching I gave up at about 3 O'clock this afternoon so that I could weld up my fatigued exhaust on the Renault and fit the silencer off the Beastie.
When I had done that I got the trailer out and guess what, a flat tyre. I swapped it for the spare so now I am hoping for a bit of luck tomorrow as I couldn't get it repaired today.
After about half a mile down the road, giving my mate a lift home, the most 'orrible noise started from the back-end. It felt like a puncture on the trailer or maybe even the car. It was neither thank goodness, the jockey wheel had come loose and dropped, hitting the road.
I was begging to think that all this was a sign
Anyway I made it home and all is well (I hope).
So, I will be there (God willing) in the Renault.
Could we go round Stretton Clock-Wise please? The last anti-clockwise day out wore out my right rear (drive and brake wheel) and I haven't changed it yet.
I need a holiday!
