I am thinking of either camping at Lobb Fields which is a mile or so away from the beach or I can camp on the beach in my van which i've partially converted to sleep in. Lobb fields has better facilities and I will be going on the Thursday morning there if that is what others are doing. I may even go to Devon a couple of days earlier to have a small holiday with some friends and try out some the traditional English pubs.

I have been thinking about my gearing for this event and because of the longish straights I am going to swap in my Corona speed challenge gear set which is about 7 to 1. My revvy little 10hp engine should be able to get it to the maximum 35mph by the end of the straight.

I’m worried about breathing at the speeds we’re likely to reach so might try this

Only about 4 weeks to go before we are tearing up the beach. I have raced on sand a few times and it can take its toll on the mechanical components of the vehicle. I am going to put a cover over my chain and may even take some spare.

With less than three weeks to go before this magnificent event on the beach, I thought i would check out the regs. Take your driving licence chaps and get there before the briefing on Saturday morning. Here is a link to the regs.

Wondering about ingress of sand, has anyone got any experience of this stuff?  Or any suggestions?

Hi Chris , I would certainly be happier using a dry lube like this , than cleaning and running without any form of Lubrication, as was discussed at weekends show.
I use a similar type on my Road bike ; It goes on wet and dries leaving a form of PTFE coating .

One of the rules on this site is that you must swear.......'kin hard to do at times!
Last night some thieving person stole my trailer.
Can't hire a van for three days, costs too much so I don't think I will be bringing the Renault or the Beast (which is finished but untested). However, I am still coming Jim and can still call in at your house.

More swearing needed there Adrian, I hope you get something sorted in time to bring the Beast. But I am really pleased you're still coming.
I have just put a filter on my breather tube to stop sand getting in. It's not connected to the inside of the air filter.

Some videos of the Cyclekarts and others on Saunton sands. My conclusion is Cyclekarts work well on the beach.

Yes was massive amounts of Fun !!

Most of us did 14 "Runs" / Sprints over the two days,  against fellow CK's and other vehicles.

You were able to challenge anyone .      Plus all the amazing "Cruisin"  where we did formation drivin on Sunday  ;D.

You are right , it was quite low key / relaxed.  Credit to the Lundy Flyers .
