Hi Jim,
I've just started putting this together for the website.  I will be at the Star & Garter event so you can pick out anything useful for the commentary.
Looking forward to seeing you there.
Cheers
Glynn

Thanks for the info Glynn, Much Appreciated, I will print it off and pass it on to the commentator. I am just waiting for the rest of the entries, so get writing some old cobblers chaps and send it to me.

Here is my first draft and probably the last of my commentators notes, I have also done loads for cyclekarts in general like rules and build ect, so drivers please get me yours asap.

Kart No. 8   1935 Dodge Baquet driven by Jim Tanner

Jim has been involved with the hobby for nearly 5 years.

This is his first Cyclekart build but has built many other cars and bikes over the years. All the cars got fitted with a big V8 engine so the little 200cc engine in the cyclekart was a lot easier on the back getting it in.
He liked the cyclekart idea because it is so simple to build and therefore should be quick to get it finished. Mine took just under 6 months. Having a Partner who lets me get on with things and keeps me fueled helps more than I can say.

Jim Said, I built it to drive it, not just to look at or parked in the garage under a cover. It’s one of those hobbies where you can make a model/toy and actually drive it. I have given it a lot of abuse over the years causing many things to have broken and/or fallen off. I am sure the field today will take its toll on the components and tinkering will be needed afterwards.

His achievements with the club are:- King of the Beach at Lundy Flyers Saunton Sands Beach race, Going to Brooklands and driving on the historic track there, Second in the Cyclekart world championship 2021, The CKGB award for taking it all too seriously, 2018-present.

Other Awards.
Winner of the East Midlands Most Boring Bloke Championship 1997-1998. A small chap from Leicester has been crowned it ever since with landslide victories.

I'll take that on the chin Jim. .... you can obviously stoop that low !! :D
Wow, you were serious when you said you wanted drivers to write a load of old cobblers!! I think your first ever drive was in my CycleKart in 2019!! ;)

Hi Jim ,here's my commentators notes
1921 Type 13 Brescia Bugatti.
New to the club and cyclekarts is Andy Dunn's interpretation of a type 13 Bugatti .
He has no experience in karts having for the last 10 yes built gravity powered soapboxes including a snail and a fire engine to race at the kophill hill climb
Seeing the cyclekarts at Lundy he decided to have a go himself
Built in a farm workshop using basic tools and know-how,it's still work in progress but getting there, and after today's inaugural outing the welding and Andy's back will still be holding together
The kart is running a standard lifan engine driveng through a Hutt variable torque converter..
Hopefully the commentator can use some of this .

Great stuff, Thanks Andy. I will copy and print it out for the commentator. Do you have a number for your CK registered on here? I had a quick look but couldn't see one.

Assuming I can get it fixed, Marek will be driving the Bugatti.  Will the write-up from the club website do for commentary - I know it's a bit long? https://www.cyclekartsgb.com/stefans-bugatti

Hi Graham, I think 8 or 9 entries so far.

After another visit to the field yesterday with Andy Boulton and Colin Stringer (who isn't a member of the club but a massive help to this event with the prep and marshalling on the day) we cleared the field of many many tyres for the grass cutting later this week. The course we rolled is still very smooth and has dried hard because of the lack of rain which should make it perfect for some drifting round the corners and kicking a bit of dust up.
BTW If anyone else wants to help with some marshalling, let me know.

Heres my thruppence worth Jim..
Poppa Simon built this saucy Italiano GP cyclekart from the offcuts of building a V8 drag race car.
The only new parts were the engine and transmission, the rest from eBay and mates.
Its a lovely, sensual, Italian body, a labour of love we're told. My theory is its what turned Simon's hair grey!
Driving today is young Flyngio in his 3rd cycle kart season. Will his first outing on a grass track see him tame the frisky, pretty Italian or end in a crazy under/over steer wild slide into the ruff ?

Thanks Graham and Simon for your light hearted and fun notes. I am popping into the Star and Garter tonight after work to do a final sweep of the field for any straggling tyres before the farmer comes in with his gang mower. The commentator is possibly going to be there and hopefully we can chat about the drivers and CK's. I also have other CK related errands to get done this evening so I may be late or not have time for the zoom later.
