VENUE:
"Race the Waves" drag racing on the "South" beach at Bridlington.
DESCRIPTION:
Hot-Rod 1/8 mile drag strip Saturday and Sunday, with a 1/4 mile shoot-out on the Sunday for the fastest cars. CKGB will be taking part in the 1/8 mile drag racing, plus we will have our own dynamic display area towards the top of the beach near the promenade. This is to keep the public entertained whilst the tide goes out and the drag strip is set up.
CKGB LEAD:
Jim Rawnsley (Jim R).
EVENT REGULATIONS:
To be issued. The main event will run under a NORA permit, and the CKGB activities will run under its own NORA permit. Consequently, you will need a NORA license to drive - A year's basic CycleKart national adult license is £25 plus admin fee and available here:
https://nora92.com/product/annual-licence-2024/COSTS:
Refer to the entry form.
OTHER COMMENTS:
Bridlington will be very busy this weekend and there is also a sailing regatta and a SteamPunk festival. Consequently, many local campsites and accomodation are already booked up.
One of the Hot-Rod racers has a campsite just north of Bridlington and is offering fellow racers a reduced rate of £25 a night including electric hook-up. His name is Jon Hill and it is Daneswood Holiday Caravan Park, 01262 850364.
Jim R has one volunteer to marshal at this event from a member. Marshals must hold a CKGB membership, (which can be a temporary membership for the event and free of charge if you are not a driving member and want to volunteer) and instruction will be given at the event if you are new to the task. Another volunteer would be good. Contact Jim through ckgbmembership@gmail.com
“Knobbly” motor-cross type tyres will cut up the surface of the CKGB track and drag strip, consequently only “road-pattern” tyres are allowed for this event.
