I have checked with the circuit; the latest C-19 'rule of six' does not impose any additional restrictions on their operation.
All is still booked for October 27th. Ruth informed me that she is happy for us all to pay on the day this time; no need to pre-pay by phone.
Still six weeks away, but please give some thought for any events to include on the day.

Some ideas for events to throw in the pot:

Pitstop challenge - eg. Remove and replace someone's front wheel against the clock. (target 2 seconds!)
100 yard dash - In pairs from a standing start winner goes through to next round (either on the main straight or the back road)
Regularity laps - either on the oval or the circuit, points awarded for closest to target time. ( no watches or phones obviously)
Load pull
Team relay race

That's all folks!

Another idea is to pick up items while driving along. These could be small cones, spanners or even Jim's brake light if it comes off again! adding more items to pick up and having to drive at speed.

Great ideas, keep them coming. We will filter them down into a meeting agenda in good time.

Nothing has currently changed at the circuit, but as we all know, things are changing week by week. My plan was to leave it until the middle of the month (two weeks prior to the event) and then check again with the circuit and also with all drivers.

Hi folks. Well the planned meeting is now only a week away. Stretton Circuit currently falls within tier 1 and arrangements at the facility are all as previous. However, I am aware that individuals may now be under local restriction or isolating for personal reasons.
Can we have a roll call to see who is still proposing to attend.
I already know:
Jim, Adrian, Stefan and Marek are attending.
Unfortunately Geoff will not be able to make it.
Thanks
Graham.

As of next Friday I'm in lockdown, so the decision has been made for me.

Latest update. I have now been in contact with all drivers.
Six CycleKarts are intending to arrive next Tuesday:
Me, Chris S, Jim, Adrian, Bill, Stefan. Others have had to decline. Andy Boulton may make it.
Speaking with Ruth at the track, exclusive use between 10 and 12 is now not possible due to reduced numbers, we may have to share track time with any owner-drivers that turn up. Ruth has agreed to block out any corporate bookings.
So I suggest we have a loose agenda for the day comprising time trials on track in the morning and driving skills in the afternoon.
Geoff May has generously donated the "Maybug Medal" sprint challenge trophy and I will bring it with me next Tuesday. Geoff has also created a handicap system and I will ensure it is published here.
With reduced numbers driving on Tuesday I am sure it will be ok for interested spectators to attend also. As always, the circuit is operating under strict social distancing guidelines.

Sorry folks, I’d hoped to be there but living in Wales we are in lockdown so no Cyclekarting for me again. Will miss you all. Keep dry and safe
