VSCC are waiting for a decision from Motorsport UK I'm afraid.  I'll send out info this weekend based on the best information we have by then.

Information about the VSCC Meeting at Silverstone has gone out by email to members, so if you've not received it, please check your spam folder.  Currently it's a display only event pending a decision from Motorsport UK.

If you're not yet a member but have a cyclekart to display and fancy watching some real vintage sports car racing, then email Chris Slade (ckgbmembership at gmail dot com) to join and register for the event before Weds 6pm.

You can of course, come along and watch the racing - tickets are available via the Silverstone website or on the gate at £17

What time and where on the site are we meeting on Saturday morning?
If you can drive round corners, you're not going fast enough.

Joining instructions including maps etc will go out this evening to anyone who has signed up and tickets will be emailed to people by VSCC.  I believe we’ll be in garage 12D, gates open early and I’m aiming to get there for 9am.

I will be stopping the night before at the Paisely Pear Stefan, I guess that dropping the cyclekart off will be in the morning? or is there access the night before?

Not 100% sure, but looks like it might be a possibility based on this:

Thanks Stefan, on the Silverstone website, it looks like the historic testing sessions are on the Friday afternoon. As we are not testing, it looks like from this that it will be a possibility. There seems to be no way of connecting to an actual human being on the Silverstone site to verify this though. A contact for the VSCC might yield an answer?

Great news that we have a garage as the weather looks to be changeable on Saturday. Took the tarp off Jane this afternoon and she has got through the winter quite well. She even started up on old E10 🤗. Gave her a quick polish and just need to finish off the safety checks and do the tyre pressures on her and the trailer then check the trailer lights. Hope to be there about 9 myself.
Re dropping the car off the night before, from experience there will be many competitors arriving on the Friday, so getting in should not be a problem as long as you have a ticket. Note that the garage may be in use for the testing on Friday but are usually vacated by 18:00.  However, whilst the garages at Silverstone are not usually locked there is a possibility that ours may be locked when you get there.

Dug the sand out of the Bugatti, have done safety checks, oily rag over the rusty bits, grease and oil in appropriate places and now changing the fuel hoses - not sure the last ones were quite the spec promised!

Trailer checked over.

Probably going to be a static display but no harm being ready.

My CK is ready and loaded in the van. I can bring the CKGB banner as I have made a stand for it. I think we'll be on hard standing if we're in a garage.

Looks like we have a show with at least four cyclekarts! Should be good static or mobile. I have de-pilled the tweed jacket, polished my helmet and packed the funky trunk into the boot of the tow car. I hope that the overalls still fit.
Any news back from VSCC greatly appreciated.

No news I’m afraid Jim.

But…tickets have been emailed  and there’ll be 8 Cyclekarts on display.

What ho!

Wow, 8 cyclekarts will be great 😁
The garages at Silverstone are quite large so we should all fit in nicely. The garages open directly onto the put lane so it should be very atmospheric
