Mucho thanks to all that came along yesterday. I hope you all had an enjoyable day and went away happy. It was great to see some new faces and seven karts on track. It was also nice to see some spectators who are keen to build a CK and from the chats I had look like they're going to build some great machines ready for the start of next years season.
 My brief summary of the races. The Maybug Medal sprint challenge was done in the morning and everyone was given a chance to have two attempts of the flying start lap. The times were very close but I just managed on my second attempt to get 1st place with a 35.7 second lap.
 This gave us the grid positions for the 40 minute endurance race with its Le mans style start. Wow what a hoot that was, everyone was nervous sat on the tyres on the opposite side of the track waiting for the last of the drivers to get ready. All eyes were on the flag start girl as she dropped the flag and the mad dash accross the track commenced. Drivers dived into their karts and were away spinning tyres as they pulled out into the chaos of people jostling for position. The first few laps went well and Chris L started pulling quite a lead. Until it went bang. Fire and Brimstone came pouring out of the back of the Austin but Chris tried to keep it going to get as many laps as he could before it finally died. The track was filled with smoke and it looked like a thick fog had desended on us.
 Mark Underdown was to drop out soon after because he drove all the tread and canvas off his rear tyres. (correct spelling) and the inner tube went pop.
 Ian F was next to pull into the pits as his engine was starting to cook and the exhaust tail pipe didn't want to carry on either deciding to go its own way.
 Simons Maserati was in and out of the pits due to various issues and he lost out on quite a few laps but still went through the chequered flag at the end.
 I was next to retire. As I pulled into the pits to let my co driver have his turn and re-fuel I lifted off the engine cover to find all my engine oil had fell out all over the pit lane. The two bottom bolts on the crank case had come loose. I had to remove the chains and clutch ect to get at them and there wasn't enough time to rejoin the race. Chris L gave me some oil and the CK was back up and running.
 This left Andy B and Chris S to battle it out for a few laps until Simon rejoined the race and they all saw the chequered flag soon after.
 The endurance race was definitely about reliability rather than speed and trying to drive the tyres off.
