Whilton mill kart track practice days.
« on: 06 Feb 20, 07:00 am »
I spoke to a chap called Dan at Whilton mill circuit which is between Northampton and Daventry. He said we would be very welcome to come and use the circuit.  They have weekday practice sessions from 10 till 4. If we had enough people go, we would likely get the track all day to ourselves. A le mans style endurance practice could be fun. cost would be 50quid each for the whole day. Tuesdays and Thursdays are probably the best days. It is a great circuit with good facilities. If we can get some ideas of numbers that would be interested we can then book a date. Check out their website and hopefully we can sort something out.
If you can drive round corners, you're not going fast enough.

Sounds good to me,
Having had a look at their website the track looks fun.
Re Tues or Thurs, out of the two Thursdays are preferred for me but not essential.

Week days are difficult for me, but sufficient notice might be able to take annual leave.

Have they suggested which of the several tracks could be used? I like the lack of "stuff" beside the track :)

They haven't said which track but I have been there a few years ago and I can't remember any really tight bends. There is plenty of grass run off.

Yes I’m interested.  Will depend on the diary but in principle I’m in.

I have spoken to Whilton Mill today and have booked a practice afternoon 1pm to 4pm for Thursday 26th March. They have something already on in the morning. The cost will only be £25 and it's quite likely we will have the track to ourselves. Probably best to arrive before 12 to sign in and get ready ect. Hopefully this suits everyone, the weather will be good and we don't all have corona.  ;)

That's great, I'll be there! Do you know which circuit we'll be on?

Thanks again to Jim for organising this. I've added it to the events calendar as a firm meeting. At present it looks as though proposing to attend are:

Jim
Graham A
Graham H
Bill
Chris S
Rhys (maybe!)
Stefan (maybe!)

That's great, any others yet to confirm please do so to support Jim. (I am dying to see that Dodge!)
