« on: 27 Mar 22, 07:52 pm »
Does anyone have a spare 15T 219 chain sprocket with 5/8” bore for use with torque converter.  They were supplied by Gemini Karts but they re currently out of stock.

Hi Glynn , Don't think there's many of us using 219 .  Did Gemini say when back in stock ?

Hello Chris,
Sorry for the slow response, had rather a lot on over the last week.  I spoke to Chris at Gemini and he tried to find me one but drew a blank.  Then he said he would try and get some more cut.  I don’t hold out much hope so I will have to make one !!

That's ok Glynn.  I have remembered and found where i recorded the details .   The 219 front sprocket 15t that Gemini sell;  is made by TALON Engineering , local to us !
Part number on sprocket is TGS171, which i assume is TALON part nunber.

Don't know if you can buy direct or go through outlets.  Hope this helps.

How much!!! Yikes

Bit of a long shot but you could try RS components UK
They have a huge list of sprockets, sorry at work so cant see if they have your exact one.

You could try a transmission company in your area, it's only a 5/8 bore sprocket with a keyway as far as I know, my local one is http://www.combidrive.com/.

So 219 pitch is 7.774mm.  The nearest standard chain ( 05B-1 ) is 8mm pitch which is 10 thou more.  I'm hoping that on a 15 tooth sprocket that will not be significant, any way as I can get a sprocket for £5 on ebay it's worth a try.  If that doesn't work I think I'll change the whole lot to 05B-1.

Thanks Chris.
Well the 05B-1 sprocket doesn't work.  The pitch, although very close, causes the chain to bind.  It is also much thinner than the 219 tooth.  I'm sure I can make a sprocket.  Any engineers out there with milling machine and dividing head ?  I have a drawing.

I have just spotted that one someone else has is marked with Talon. Have you tried them?

Ouch! Did they have them as blanks? I could get one bored and broached for you.

No, I think they make them from scratch.  I assume they are only interested in making batches.
Thanks for the offer but I have decided to try standard 8mm chain ( T8F )
