Build journals / Re: Dodge baquet ish build.

Well, it's been 4 years since I first tested my Dodge CK around my garden and what a lot of fun I've had with it. I have driven it with mucho enthusiasm at quite a few kart tracks, starting at Stretton which is smashing little venue with a nice nostalgic feel. I have taken it green lane-ing which I had to keep quiet about for legal reasons but that was a lot of muddy fun and I was surprised how well it drove in 6" deep slurry. It's been thrashed up and down a beach at Saunton and felt very much at home on the sand. It was here I was finally given the title of king of the beach after a printing error. It's done the Corona speed challenge which was a sort of terrifyng fun especially as it was only 24hrs before I went in for a hip replacement. I have taken it round Brooklands banking and up test hill which was really good in vintage sort of vibe. It's been round a number of fields and show grounds and shook it self to pieces but I love the ease of how it drives sideways on grass. I have on many occasion been driving it and thought there's a CK just like mine going past in reverse. So after four years of driving it on every type of surface and in all weathers I can only recommend that you builders get one finished and have some fun with the toy you've made. I have really enjoyed my time in the seat and look forward to my anniversary outing at Santapod this weekend.

Hi Ian, What are the club charging for one event licences? This year Nora are doing a one event card for £2 to save filling out forms at each event.

I have a full face polished helmet that looks awful in my CK but is ECE 22-06. I also have a Bell but I sprayed over it.

I have paid my entry for this show on the Kitcar website £10+£1 shipping so I guess you change my percentage to 100. (if you want to that is :)

I want to try a different front suspension set up so I'm making a Watts linkage.

Some engines have a 20mm shaft so it's probably one of them.

I was looking at drawer cup handles and noticed when put together they could form some very cheap louvres. These are off eBay. They can be riveted to Sheet metal ok.

Jay, From your pic I would say they are M12 because that looks like a 19mm AF nut. M12 coarse is 1.75mm pitch.

Cool, is there an 8 tooth sprocket on the gearbox?
Thanks Ian and Nick, It's a 10 tooth on the gearbox which has a 1.3:1 ratio. This gives me 7.15:1 ratio from the TAV to the axle. I can't remember the TAV ratios but I should get good acceleration and top end with the motor revving at 5500rpm.

Thanks Nick, The power train is a GX clone connected to a FNR gearbox via a TAV which then drives a 55 tooth sprocket on the axle.
