Nice job, love the "pathe' style commentary and the massive understeer in the wet ! I know how much work goes into editing a video, Mrs G and myself do the videos for our local dog rescue, very time consuming.

Quote....I'll be visiting the site when the rules allow and will be scoping out an area for us to drive around in as well as doing the speed trial route.   The organisers are keen to have us and believe that cyclekarts will add to the spectacle.

Be more than happy to meet and join you for this Stefan, its about 3 miles through the lanes for me ! Cheers.

I raced motocross in my youth and all riders had to wear a tag ( dog style ) with name on and blood type. Just a suggestion !

Done some more research and tend to agree there Jim, I see some 2:1 reducers have a wet clutch built in, might be a better bet.

Was just wondering if a clutch would work if its already running at 1/6 engine speed  :-\ can you get different springs for them to tune the engagement point ?

After 40 years of working in the street, a lockup and a leaky barn I have built myself a spacious workshop with good lighting, loads of power points, a 16amp circuit. It can hold 3 full size cars with room to work and I have 8 x 4 welding table, currently home to my Maserati CK project ( Gates and railings pay for my hobbies ) I have a post war SouthBend lathe and a Thiele mill which has a small bed but is very versatile and tilts in both planes I have sold off all my other cars except my Austin Devon Pickup which was a scratch build with lightweight GRP cab, aluminium bed and a very heavily tuned Pontiac V8. Its a lively beast running an easy 11 at 110mph at Santa Pod. Ive had a few carb issues but sorted now and waiting to see if I can race this year, fingers crossed for 10s. The trouble with a big garage/workshop is that its too easy for it to fill up with patio furniture, exercise stuff, firewood etc...a spring clean is on the cards.

Just been perusing eBay for an engine and found a Lochin with 6:1 reduction gearbox. Ive not made up my mind between a centrifugal clutch or CVT. Collective knowledge please for making an informed decision. Ciao fellas

For sale and wanted / Spares or repair Kart wanted
« on: 12 Jan 21, 05:00 pm »
Im ready to get the rear axle on my Maserati, Im looking around for a spares repair kart that hasn't been robbed of the best bits, OR does anyone have anything like a  keyed axle with carriers for disc and sprockets, bearings and housings, hubs and rear wheels, ideally a bit wider than honda C90 fronts. With the Covid restrictions I would send a courier to collect. Cheers fellas.

Disappeared down a rabbit hole there synthpunk. I was a Retro Racing Club member many years ago, I may have to renew my subscription and dig that box out....as if I haven't got enough going on already plus a CK to finish !
The Belvedere history is fascinating as with many of these" pioneer" IC engines, a very fortunate find for you ! have you got it to run yet ?
Ciao

Tether cars are great. I taught Engineering for many years and developed a tether car project for my students to batch produce from stock materials inc wheels and tyres. The bodies were grp over foam. We ran them on the tennis courts ! Best speed we got was 71 mph from 2.5 cc nitro engines.
Im retired now but still got a big box of bits tucked away for a "one of these days "
