I like your bending jig for 1/2" square tube (I like all the build - way ahead of me already). Keep posting please.

There are other more percussive ways to remove the governor but, for the sake of your brand new castings...

That is a first rate guide Jim, thanks. Even I may be able to follow it. However, before tackling that I think I shall get used to my ck as built. Tweeking can come later once I've passed 35mph without 'accident'.
I bet there are lots of other good tips on that site too.

I am so ignorant!!!!

Never heard of these cars before, and the 1924 Aston Martin Razor Blade is British, even better.

Thanks Rhys, really helpful.
I can get one ordered next week (supplier closed this week).

"oil wire, usually yellow, which comes out of the side/front of the crankcase" - I was wondering how easy that was to find having read about it previously.
I've also read about 'taking off the governor' too. Where abouts is that?

I thought I might investigate the Razor Blade a bit more.

The Razor Blade looks amazing - very much like a cyclekart only a bit bigger.

We use genuine Honda engines on machines we build, we take the key start box off and just extend the wiring to move it to a more convenient location.

Thanks Mark. I'm sure the clones will work more or less the same way. Do you extend the choke as well?

I presume you have a 12 volt battery somewhere.
Does the engine keep the battery charged?
All I know is that a car has a starter motor and a separate alternator for the battery. How does that compare with the electric start engines?

This is all basic stuff for people who have been around engines for a while, but my engines mainly run on steam!

Here's are rooky questions from total non-petrolhead -
What will I need extra if I buy an electric start engine?
Can I move the 'key' to the dash?
Does turning the key off class as a kill switch?

Being geriatric, the thought of pulling and pulling on a starter cord doesn't appeal. I have one of those on one of my railway locos and usually get one of the youngsters to start it.

But not this year for me.
I'm inclined to agree Jim as I already have things in the diary (so she tells me).
Perhaps we can get a date penned in for a club meet in Autumn or Spring 23.

How about it Jim Tanner?

I've been watch YouTube VSCC hill climb events - never knew there were so many pre-1930 cars or makes.
Good source of inspiration - so many to choose from.

I agree about the chicken/egg Rhys.
If the dates for Speedfest 2022 don't fit it in with folk, perhaps we can arrange a bit of a do there later in the year, a 'club meet' that they encourage, especially if there is somewhere to have a run.
As for next year, I hope to have my ck ready and that will be a whole new picture.
Let's wave the flag for the North East and Yorkshire.
There is so much to do and see around Pickering. It is a beautiful area. Worth a holiday there.

Ian, if it's the one I'm thinking of it was designed that way as his wife, who also wants to drive, has one leg, hence the hand controls.
Or perhaps that's a different one.
