Its coming along nicely Marek. Are you going to make the real body from aluminium? It looks like you will be sitting low in the kart which is how i like it.

Where to get stuff / Re: Wheels
« on: 08 Oct 20, 09:05 pm »
I have picked up 4 of these Kawasaki BN123 wheels from eBay quite cheap. They are 17x1.85 rim.  Easy to mount a hub on the Disc bolt holes. I have no idea what sort of car to build round them. Any ideas are welcome.

Thanks Chris and Graham, It will be fully operational with either another cable operated caliper or a cable pulling on the brake pedal.

I had a bit of spare time yesterday afternoon so I started making a handbrake lever. It is all from bits lying around the around the garage. The handle is an from an old file, lever from an old childs bicyle and the shaft is conveyor track barrier. Plus other tut found under the bench amongst more tut.

Excellent video Marek and I think your kart is showing us the way forward to the future. When I clicked on your link to wittenstein it came up with some lawyer site.

I did think you were a bit mad because you said you were the 7377 member of a sewing machine club.  ;D

I like your idea for the folding seat back. The hinge looks like it will work well and is nice and simple. Good skills young man.

I used a door hinge. Seems ok. Well it hasn't fallen off yet.

I am up for it Graham. Count me in, I'm already looking forward to getting the bath chair back out.

It's coming along nicely Marek. If the aluminium for your seat is less than 1.6mm you could roll some beads in it to give it strength. I have a roller you are welcome to use.

Events / Re: The 'Maybug Medal'

I really enjoyed the maybug medal part of the day. I hope we can have lots of other fun and chaotic games at future club events. Maybe get a score board going with points like the supremely informative and technically perfect tv programme "Top Gear "

Great video Marek, it captures the fun and friendly racing very well. I love the "Is it recording?" bit at the end.
