For sale and wanted / Cyclekart posters
« Last post by RhysN on 11 Jan 26, 12:10 pm »
As I have gathered posters that were going to be in my CK man cave, that's not going to happen, would anyone like them?
So far I have stumbled across 4 from the Huntsville Grand Prix, 1st thru 4th, I know I have a number more.

Events / GENERAL INFORMATION FOR THE 2026 SEASON
« Last post by Ian Fletcher on 09 Jan 26, 03:10 pm »
Happy New Year everyone  :D

We have quite a line-up of events for you all for 2026.  Please see the news item at https://www.cyclekartsgb.com/news/oultonpark25-g42p8

LIMITATIONS ON NUMBER OF ENTRIES
Club membership rose significantly during 2024 and 2025, consequently there was concern that the number of entries for the 2025 events would need to be limited. Thankfully, whilst we reached a maximum for some of the events, we did not exceed it. Therefore, during 2025 we did not have to reject any entries, but this is likely to be an issue for 2026.
Membership continues to rise for 2026, so we are likely to exceed our expected maximum limit of entries for events. The maximum limit is
dictated by parking space, paddock space, track size and facilities. It is also limited by the amount of planning and on-the-day management that is required. Therefore, we will be seeking volunteers to assist with the running of each event.
Furthermore, for most of the events all entrants will be expected to assist with being marshals for one or two sessions during the day.   Subsequently, with assistance from the membership we can hopefully increase the maximum number of entries.

Please keep a watching eye on the “Events” section of our Forum for up-to-date details on each event.

Build journals / Re: Austin Seven Beaufort Special

The original "price limit" which has been loosely observed, was $1750 to build in 2001 dollars.
So approx $3200 today or £2370.
You have some leeway yet  ;D

Meanwhile, I've already gathered some parts. Engine, torque converter, pit bike wheels, tires, leaf springs, and some unnecessary gauges for the look. I've already spent £560  :-[. What's the maximum a cycle kart should cost now?
I've also enrolled in an evening course in turning and milling. I hope to be able to make some things there.
I've seen that Gemini, among others, sells rear axles. Now I'm wondering if anyone makes these axles themselves. I think it would be a fun thing to do in the evening classes. Hopefully, someone has some tips on this.
To be continued.
