Hello everyone
I didn't know about this site until recently.
My name is Derek or (petrolderek ) age 71 life long petrolhead and engineer.
Time served as an agricultural engineer worked on Massey Ferguson tractors for 13 years then moved over to working on Hyster fork lift trucks as an engineer then a supervisor then production manager then sales before going self employed as a lift truck thorough examination test engineer until I retired. I have always been interested in motorbikes ( mostly working on them not so much riding ) and have restored about 50 bikes. Currently have a 1965 Honda CA77 Dream, a 1968 Yamaha YDS6 and just bought a 1961 Raleigh Roma scooter which I in the middle of restoring.
Have just finished building a cyclekart loosly based on a 20s three wheel Morgan. In keeping with the enginners of the 20s when they built thier cars with of whatever they had  I have used mosly stuff I had left over from previous projects. It has a honda gx160 engine bult from spare parts from a go kart project fitted with a slide carb and a kaawasaki startermotor. It has a 4 sepped villiers gearbox and a honda ca77 rear wheel. The main spine is a piece of scaffold tube as is the front axle. the steering is from a mobility scooter and the steering wheel from a tractor. The front wheels are from a James motorbike. The body is plywood and the hood is fiberglass. Its been built as a bit of fun not for racing. I will try to get to some of the events as there is nothing around where I live. ( wigan ). The project took about 7 months to build. total hours about 300 hours. Like watching champions league football.

Hi Derek and welcome. Your approach using remotely sourced second hand parts is a breath of fresh air. I am sure it results in an interesting and unique build. I do hope you can join up with us at one of our meetings soon. In the meantime a photo or two of your Morgan would be great. ?
