Hello Everybody I,m Dave I,m from Yorkshire but living in Northamptonshire, Im interested in fabrication and learned to weld a couple of years ago still learning every day I have restored an old 1959 Simca  and am now looking for something to build. I was looking at board track racer replicas and found this cyclekarts site. I am currently in the process of building a rocket mass heater to heat my garage it gets cold in the winter. Hope to get lots of ideas and inspiration.

Hi Dave, If you need any help I am only a stones throw away in Rushden, along with Gemini Karts. Good luck with your build.
If you can drive round corners, you're not going fast enough.

I have been reading through the build posts and I am in awe of the Skills of the members of this forum.
When I left school I went for a engineering apprentice Job Three people were in the running The final test was between me National coal Board, A british Gas , and an British Rail apprentice. we were all given Two large ball bearings and two hours to make something.
When the British Gas apprentice went first he had made a pair of dice he had shaped them into cubes  made them with soft edges and ballanced perfectly.
Then the british Rail guy came in with a cruet set he had hollowed them out made screw bottoms for refilling and even engraved the salt and pepper on the sides.
Next was my turn.
I had to explain that I had Broken the first one Then I lost the second one. !!!!!
I think I might change my name to The bodger to sort out any confusion from the start. Looking forward to starting the build.

If you treat this as a way to learn more skills, and keep your first build simple you will be out there having fun while others are becoming despondant, and you will be able to make your second one  better, if you need to.
We must avoid torturing our brains with false problems, it occupies but it can annoy. In jest!

As one of those who went "off Piste" I concur with Rhys, keep the first one simple!
