I suppose a precedent exists with crit racing in cycling where a town centre hosts a circuit. The hard part would be getting big enough to have a calendar and be able to attract a crowd.  Tagging it onto a gravity racer event might work

Certainly get me and a fair few others , I'm sure.

In Ringwood and New Milton they have an annual Soapbox (Pedal Power) race through/around  both town centres .

it's Ringwood this year on July 10th . They can reach speeds of up to 30mph , apparently.
