Gents, just revisiting my parts list and purchasing and build schedule.
Other than the details as supplied StefanN ( see posting of 1st April 2021 ) I would speculate that no drawings of the leaf springs in question are available however Midland Motor Springs should be able to provide said information via their Invoice No 42751. and with this information come up with a price plus supply date line.
I only bring this up as I would not like to see any build being stalled due to a supply chain/parts issue.
Should anyone have a drawing perhaps they could pass this on to Chris H as it would help with his attempt to secure these leaf springs which appear to be a build chock point issue, unless other members can provide details of other known suppliers?

Regards

Scotty

I’m out all day but will do a drawing later if no one else has provided one.

You are a gent, very few left and should be preserved (usually in whiskey but I’m not averse to other “strong” liqueur 🤪)
Thank you once again for stepping into the breach.

Here's a drawing of a semi-elliptical spring.  It's not the only correct option but if it helps nail one thing down for you then great.  The camber will relate to the design of your chassis rails and whether the springs are under the rails (what most people do) or to the side of the rails like on my Bugatti.   You might also want to think about whether your spring will sit on top of or hang below your axle.  In short, there's lots to think about but now at least you have a sketch with the dimensions on.

Hi All,
I have now got quotes back from Midland Motor Springs at £50 each plus carriage plus vat

Rossendale Road Springs at £80 each plus carriage plus vat.

Midlands lead time is approx 4 weeks may be a bit longer as they are moving premises.

How do I post a pdf image as I have done a drawing for the leaf spring? I tried clicking on the add attachment but it just posted without letting pick the image.

Hi all, just reading the comments about The suppliers using the Midland name. From a Motor Trade point of view, the Nottingham company are well known around East Anglia and North London. Companies I’ve worked for have used them for bolts, clamps etc and springs from cars to large HGV’s and they’ve always been very helpful while also being very competitive on their prices. Only my own experience and always open to new suppliers.

Hi,

Is anyone interested in leaf springs:
single leaf semi-elliptical springs
560mm centres
5mm (3/16") thick
38mm (1.5”)  wide
80mm camber
12mm (not 0.5”) bushes in the eyes

I've got a quote of £108 per pair incl VAT if we order 10 pairs.  5 - possibly 6 pairs are accounted for, so are there 4/5 more people who want to join in?   Shipping isn't included so I can arrange to have them at cyclekart events but other than that, shipping costs would be extra.   We can of course order more than 10 pairs if wanted.
