GNASHER - my next cyclekart
« on: 08 Feb 24, 04:11 pm »
I thought it was about time I wrote something about my new cyclekart.  I started building this just before Christmas, and now after just over a month he is nearing completion.

I built "Jane", my first cyclekart in 2022.  This was built in 3 months, but there were delays waiting for parts from China and the USA.  So the first lesson I learnt was to get your parts before you start building!  Consequently, I had been collecting parts for over 6 months.

Another lesson from the first cyclekart was to source a lot of the parts from a used go-kart.  I managed to locate an old pro-drive kart minus its engines at a very good price.  The owner was a bit perturbed when I asked if he had a power socket I could plug my extension lead into, and then proceeded to cut the kart in half with my angle grinder so it could be loaded into my small hatchback ;D

Anyhow, I will start off the story with the reasonings behind GNasher and the inspiration car (see attachment).
