Where to get stuff / Re: A new Peerless 110 Differential
« on: 04 Jul 25, 12:25 pm »
Gemini have now developed an extended replacement drive-shaft to fit the Generic TAV. This allows the location of offset drive sprockets on the shaft, thereby affording the engine to be located centrally within the chassis when lining up with the plate-wheel on the offset Peerless 110. Obviously this extended shaft can also be used for other layshaft applications. Gemini will additionally have tube spacers available soon to assist with fitting of drive sprockets. Pillow block bearings are available to enhance the security of fixing.
NOTE. This will not work with a genuine Comet TAV, only generic clones.
All enquiries contact Gemini Karts.

For all non-Mikuniites. I dont think this has been posted previously here? Hopefully somebody may find it useful.

Absolutely agree that anybody who is interested in midland events is included Ian, irrespective of home location.
What area are we targeting southwards before it begins to be considered as a Southern region. It would help to identify a central area to the Midlands region.

I’m working with Ian to progress CKGB Midlands Region. We need to try and get some discussion going to ensure that there is an appetite for a regional sub-group.
We already have the benefit of Stretton Circuit here in Leicester, they are always willing to accommodate us. I’ve just checked that if we wish to organise a social event at any time the bar facilities and seating area are available to us (subject to sufficient numbers). We can bring our own food or order-in.
But let’s also identify alternative locations.
Some specific questions to help plan going forward
•   How many members are actually interested at present. Hopefully numbers will increase as more local members come on board.
•   Are any members interested in pure social meetings/builders’ technical discussion, without the opportunity to drive.
•   If members are interested in social meetings, do they see this as an opportunity to include partners, family, friends. (The Southwest is quite active socially as a group).
•   Alternatively, are members only interested if it includes the opportunity to drive. (This can still include a wider social element if wished).
•   Not really interested in social gatherings, just want more opportunity to drive their CK.
•   Does anybody already have some good ideas to share.
I think that this is a start, we can then look further into venues to try and centralise and vary meet-ups.
Please share your thoughts so that the level of interest can be gauged.
Ian and I will be at Brooklands and would welcome any additional feedback.

Hi Paul. Plenty of English short fat gits here in the Midlands to prove the concept.
If you can squeeze down your driveway then you should get a CK to fit down there too. Have fun, keep us updated.

Tech Forum / Re: Where to put the camber in front axle
« on: 08 Jan 25, 12:20 pm »
Gemini Karts will make a bespoke version of their front axle if asked.
Last year I was using a spare early prototype with 12 degrees KPI and 3 degrees positive camber on the welded stub. I've experienced a lot of wheel hopping around fast corners (I do run a fixed rear axle).
Their standard axle is now 16 degrees KPI with zero camber. I am having another made using the 16 degrees KPI and 2 degrees positive camber (for period look, not performance). I'll see how it performs this year.

Jim. Yes, Gemini do not currently offer a spacer to offset the platewheel, but are happy to develop one if there is a requirement. Additionally they have suggested that further design changes are possible with Comet if unequal axle lengths are seen as a preference. If you email me with
suggested dimensions I can get them onto this.
