We're happy with the front now so we'll get on and cover in fiberglass, once set we'll remove the clay and foam then we'll be left with a removable nose cone.

So ply cockpit made this time around, modified auto pedal box from something and made a start on sculpting a buck for the fiberglass nose cone.

I didn't realise you had event stickers, so if they were available if you missed them that would be cool.

Hi Jay, would there be interest in like a annual sticker/badge maybe with a different design each year.

I finally finished this build and has been tested at a couple of events and it works really well, the jack is raised and lowered with a battery impact drive although could be raised with a socket and ratchet but obviously take longer. The only additions I've made is some removable side pads and a pillow between my legs to stop them flopping about, the pillow also acts as a cushion from the steering column when getting out. Also I added a harness as I'm paralysed from the chest down and it keeps me upright while cornering. The only downside is the weight but I do plan on building another kart and focussing on making it as light as possible, fitting a lighter seat and making the jack incorporated with some C-channel would lose 10kg at least. But we'll see I'm helping my mate build his kart which will give me some time to ponder.

This time I'm helping Dean out building his kart, he's chosen the iconic 1937 Mercedes W125. What with the curves on this one there's no way making the body from ally so this will be a full fiberglass one. But with this in mind it does make the chassis a basic build as it's not on show, so we picked up a kit courtesy of Mark (Cyclekart Workshop). Standard front axle from Gemini karts again front springs cut down from a pair of matching leaves from an old Morris with eyelets machined and welded on. Next will be to get the rear assembled (axle and wheels), on the ground so I can get the chassis leveled and measure up for the length of the shackles for the front suspension. Then to get the engine in position and mountings made. Engine is a Maxpeedingrods 212 with electric start and cockpit will be a ply coffin style as per the stevenson method.
