If I’m reading it right it sounds like your engine position is very much in line with mine if so I will post some pictures of my now engine and cooling setup, I was collecting grass in to the engine fan as my floor pan finished just after the seat position. (Still out on that one)
I have now added two scoops to take fresh air direct to the fan as the fan was sucking up grass from below, I’ve also added a extra exit vent to top of cowling plus the exhaust now is outside the cowling.
If your set up is like mine watch out for the carb / axle position if you want to change to another carb setup.
