Hi, my name is Les and I live in the village of Winthorpe just outside Newark.  Members should know this because the Newark Kit Car Show is held on the old RAF Winthorpe site, as is Elk karting as used last year.

I have been a member for over a year but have just registered on this site.  I first saw the cyclekarts at the Newark show in 2023.  I instantly decided that this was a challenge to be taken head on.  My approach has been to do as much of the work myself as possible and that the design was to be entirely my own and not influenced by others, hence why I have avoided this forum.  I know I have probably made many mistakes but at least I will own them and hopefully rectify them in my own way.  My kart is now almost complete.  I have driven it around the garden so I know at least it moves.  This project has given me immeasurable pleasure so far and once the warmer weather arrives I will get on a finish it.

I look forward to meeting up as the year progresses.
