Tech Forum / Re: Starting the aluminium bodywork
« on: 16 Mar 24, 08:45 am »
Hi Tim, I just screwed my aluminium to the ply, no glue used. As regards rivets, I think I used 2.4mm as 3.2 look a bit heavy for our scale.

Mine are Shoei Qwest, full face, ACU approved Gold Sticker. I think it's ECE 22.05 but hard to read!  Also SHoei J O, open face, ECE 22.05.
Rgds.

Build journals / Re: MG PA Re-build

I'm currently experimenting with re-positioning the engine and I've found the CL of the engine is not mounted on the CL of the chassis. It's about 20mm off to the right.

See photo - the blue mark is on the CL of the chassis.

Is this unusual? Has it been done to line the drive sprocket up with the axle sprocket the position of which is determined by the key-way on the shaft.

I'd rather not change it if I don't have to but advice would be appreciated.
I wouldn't worry about it, 20mm is nothing.  It's more important to focus on having clearance on each side to fit under your tail.

In response to the query about guests, I can confirm that whilst the general public will not be admitted to this event, we are more than happy for members to bring guests.
Please register names of guests with myself - ckgbmembership@gmail.com - at least 24 hrs in advance.
Thanks.
