At last it's done!
The builders guide is attached as a pdf file so should be easily downloaded and printed if you want. (It's about 35 pages long).
If you are new to this site then it should make interesting reading and hopefully show what is involved in building your own CycleKart.

Possible typo spotted- in the introductory bit about Stephenson karts the chassis rails are described as 3x2 steel box section. Should that be 3x1?

Just read the "Potential Builders Guide and while there are a typo or two I think that it is an excellent document and deserves a special Place in the "Start Here" section of the forum.
It's a must read for all builders both old and new and fair credit to the Authors who put so much time and effort into its compilation. It is very hard to get folk to commit to creating items like this that often get shot down by people who can't be bothered. Well done that man.
All builders need to have a copy to hand in the workshop.

I can edit and pdf but how do I overwrite the original document on this forum Stefan and can it go in a place like your Brakes are or it will soon get swollowed up and lost.

If you go back to your original post and click "modify" you can then delete the current attachment and attach the new document.  Then just save.

When I get time, I'll rearrange some posts so that the guides are in the Start Here section and make that more prominent.

I will incorporate the axle bit Graham, I had forgotten about that myself.
Hopefully all typos 'n stuff will be put right and I will re-pdf it and pop it on the site so the we'll have the latest version to hand.
Now I know how easy it is to update it on the site, if anybody suggests an addition just let me know.
I have some information on tyre choice which I might include once I know its good info.

Hi. Just read your information on the builders guide., Having been in hospital so that's why it's late reading.
I found it a very interesting. Obviously a lot of work when into writing this, and there is information here for New and existing builders.
