Hi Stefan , my Marmon wasp uses 219 sprockets throughout. Smallest size available is 60 tooth from Talon,63 tooth from everyone else. However if you’re struggling for room there are a lot of smaller split sprockets with key ways for 30 mm axle/lay shaft, these are 428 pitch. Loads of different tooth counts search on eBay.

Hi Paddy. I know exactly how you feel, my Lifan engine dismantled itself after about 10 meetings.
Can you tell me what make engine it was.
Hope you have more luck with the next one.

Cheers Nick

Hi Mac, good inspiration car, are you sticking with the tiller type steering? It’ll be nice to see a working electric kart at an event.

Good luck with the build 👍

Hi Stefan, yes a key switch on the dash , or a prominent position near by. My MG & the Wasp have key switches & kill switches not sure we need both.

Question for the committee. If we have an electric start engine with a key switch, do we also need a separate engine kill switch?

This is the damage to Lifan engine, the piston & big end is not seized. I think the cam shaft sheered & then destroyed everything else. Just a guess.

Hi Guys, after 7 proper meetings & several runs on private ground the Lifan engine went BANG. I will strip it down to try & establish what failed if anyone is interested.

Nice work Pred. If that was in Dorset it would’ve had a parking ticket on by now 👍😀

Hi Scotty, I found the jets made in China to be very badly machined. EBC jets made in England are far superior.

Hi Scotty, I have found the combination in the picture works as well as your likely to get with a Mikuni clone, personally I have moved away from them due to poor engineering.
Good luck Nick. keep in mind the main jet only comes into play at the top end of rev range.
Pilot jet =tick over to 20% Needle jet 20-75% Main jet 75-100%.
 Good luck Nick
