Looking forward to seeing the pull start working.   I have mused about a design for a kick start in the past but the geometry has never quite come together.

DATE:  7/8th Aug 2026
VENUE: Brooklands Museum
STATUS:  Endorsed

DESCRIPTION:  We are incredibly privileged to have been invited to be part of the centenary celebrations of the first British Grand Prix at Brooklands Museum.  The plans for the day are still being worked on, but we know already that it is being supported by a number of F1 teams.   Entry is strictly for cyclekarts based on cars that raced (or intended to!) in the 1926 or 1927 Grand Prix.  The lists of entries to those races are attached below.   The results from 1926 make cyclekarts look reliable!

Period attire will be required and we're working with Brooklands re our display area.  The programme for the day is still being developed but the museum hopes to create an opportunity in what will be a packed programme, for some display laps for cyclekarts.

Set-up will be on 6/7 Aug with a preview event on Friday evening and the public ticketed event on Sat 8th.

Entries will be reviewed by the Museum before being accepted.  If you have a potentially eligible cyclekart and would like to be involved, please reply below and I will provide info about the next steps.

JURISDICTION:  Running under Brooklands jurisdiction and insurance.

EVENT SUPPORT ROLES:
Event Lead – Stefan Nahajski
Clerk of Course – Provided by Brooklands
Deputy Clerks of Course – Provided by Brooklands
Event Secretary(s) – TBC
Marshals/Timekeeper – Provided by Brooklands

Build what you like within the rules.   There are 100s of cars to choose from.  If two people build a Jappic or any other special, that’s fine.

Personally if someone was already building one of the specials, I wouldn’t do the same car but that’s just a choice.

Probably most important is that we encourage people to build, “finish” and enjoy their Cyclekarts.

Non-CKGB event

Looks likely that Brooklands Museum will host us for a test and tune day on Sat 28th March.   Please reply here if you’re interested and I’ll let them know likely numbers.  It’s a smallish area so very much an opportunity for a start of season shakedown and tinker.

If you’re in the South East and not yet on the SE WhatsApp Group, drop a note here and you can get added.

People attending:
Stefan Nahajski
Mark Underdown
Andy Dunn
Max Cliff
Graham Appleyard and Lewis

Apologies for the delay in confirming a date for the AGM.  I appreciate your enthusiasm to attend.   I’ve been chasing venues since the start of the year and for some reason it’s taken a long time to sort one this year.  I am hopeful to have a date in the next few days.

I get that people will need notice to book time off or to plan their quests from all points on the compass.   Thank you for your patience.

CK register / Re: Race Number Register
« on: 11 Feb 26, 09:38 pm »
Stefan,

I see you registered Nick's request for number 28A just the other day yet back in January and again at the beginning of February, I asked if you would allocate 44a to myself for my Panhard Razor build.

Any reason why this number cannot be given to me?

Regards,

Scotty ( a.k.a. Charlie S )
Hi Scotty,
No reason.
Regards
Stefan

Hi Stefan, can I have no 28 please. MG q type monoposto.

Hi Nick
28 is currently reserved - are you happy with 28A?  We can also check if the current 28 is progressing.

Events / Re: GENERAL INFORMATION FOR THE 2026 SEASON
« on: 08 Feb 26, 07:02 pm »
Hi Scotty,
The update process for the map is not automatic and someone goes and regularly transfers the data.  I know in theory it should be but it would be very involved to make that happen.

Quite often the postcode people put in isn't recognised automatically by Google Maps, so then we need to do a bit of detective work to place the person.

I've just gone through and resolved the 20 entries that needed fixing...so hopefully everyone is pinned in the right place on the map.
