Just an update on the Booker Bandit. As I's sure you all know, you can be working on all sorts of bits and pieces, but when you take pics of the car, nothing has changed ! We have drilled the chassis for the spring shackles and cut tubing and doublers, ready for welding. Made brass bushes for the front axle and made the steering front bearing support, bolted to the chassis in case we want to upgrade to a geared steering set-up. I used Paxolin for the bearing and steering stops. We have mulled over the Ackerman steering geometry and decided we need about 14 degrees on the steering arms, with 1000mm track and 1665mm wheel base. At the back end, the engine and shafts layout is more or less finalised, so we can do a bit more welding.

I looked it up, and it's true that there's more information available in Germany than in the Netherlands.
I already mentioned that finding the parts you use, is here on the mainland not so easy.
https://www.cyclekart-germany.de puts me on the right track to finding parts here.
Thanks for that.
Now, a few more holidays and then I can start gathering the necessary materials.

I can recommend it Ian, I raced them with kids in school a few years ago now and the class we competed in only had one engine for lift and thrust. I'm part of the reason Yammy 250LC engines are rare! If you still fancy it, the adult two engine F1 or 2 craft come up on FB Marketplace occasionally, or you could build from kit or plans...

Hi Barry, welcome to the madhouse.  Racing hovercraft was something I always wanted to have a go at, but other projects got in the way.

Hello all!
I'm Barry, a recently retired teacher and engineer from Essex. I've built kit cars, racing hovercraft, gravity racers, electric cars and maintained and restored lots of four wheeled old junk; I suspect just like a lot of you.
If there's anyone nearby (I'm guessing Shuttleworth is probably the nearest venue I've noticed so far), who's prepared to put up with  incessant questions and me poking around their work of art, please get in touch!
